Yay, another IT tutorial :)
Just like the title says, it's a tutorial about how to uninstall Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component. You may encounter this problem while installing/re-installing Microsoft Office when you had already installed another version of Microsoft Office before.
You will not find this component on Add/Remove Programs on Control Panel. Yet how to solve this error is very simple:
1. Open Registry Editor
Windows 8.1 or above: Click Start --> type 'regedit' and enter.
Windows 7 or Vista: Click Start --> in the search box, type 'regedit' and enter.
Windows XP: Click Start --> click Run --> in the Run window, type 'regedit' and enter.
2. After Registry Editor opened, go to: Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
3. In Products folder, you will find many folders. Folders we'll need begin with 00005 on its name (see image below).
4. Find and delete all folders which contain Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component on ProductName.
5. After deleting all required folders, launch the Microsoft Office installer again and voila! let the installation begins.
That's all. Quite simple right?
Btw, I am using Windows 8.1 and haven't try it on another OS yet. But I expect it will work also.
